Integrated Watershed Management Scheme (IWMS)

ASSA has been actively involved in promoting sustainable livelihoods and prosperous households through the Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) supported by NABARD. By implementing water harvesting structures such as ponds and open wells, the irrigation command area has been expanded, resulting in an increase in the cultivation of second crops through efficient water resource management.

Under the watershed component of the IWMP Fund, conservation ponds have been constructed, which have significantly improved the micro-climatic conditions of the catchment area. Moreover, these ponds have enhanced the water level and filtration rate, ensuring sustainable agriculture and benefiting the overall water movement in the region.
